About Us

Welcome to The Rustic Spoon — where flavor meets family.

My name is Kanjana Pennson, but friends and family call me Eiddy. I came to the U.S. from Thailand in 1998 and have been sharing my love of Thai cooking ever since. Cooking has been a part of my life since I was 10 years old — it was my responsibility in the family, and it became my passion.

The Rustic Spoon opened its doors in Toluca Lake in 2010. Since then, we’ve grown with the support of our community, opening locations in Valley Village and Sherman Oaks. Our food is made from scratch, using fresh, high-quality ingredients, and inspired by recipes passed down through generations — with a modern, California twist.

We're proud to call this neighborhood home. All three of my children went to Colfax Charter Elementary, and we've loved being part of a community that welcomes us like family. Through fundraisers, school events, and donations, we believe in giving back — because good food tastes even better when it's shared.
